DESCRIPTION:Implicit Bias Training\n\nThursday\, September 17\, 2020\n\n11:00am-1:00pm\n\nThe South Charleston Chamber is hosting a special training event\, "Implicit Bias: Unpacking Hidden Prejudices\, which will be conducted by the YWCA Racial Justice Committee.\n\n\n\nThis training will be held virtually on Thursday\, September 17th from 11am - 1pm. The training is being offered free of charge\, registration is required and there are limited spots for event. To receive the registration link\, please email executivedirector@southcharlestonchamber.org.\n\n\n\nThe purpose of this training is to help community leaders understand race-related concepts in hopes of breaking down the barriers racial bias creates. Further objectives of this training include providing a historical background of race relations and discrimination\, recognizing common diversity and inclusion related misconceptions\, and defining Implicit Bias and discussing how bias manifests in our daily lives. This presentation provides a safe space to encourage honest dialogue surrounding racial bias in the world around us. \n\n\n\nWe look forward to this important dialogue.
